Steffie Baker - van der Niet

Steffie Baker-van der Niet graduated in 1988 with a degree in physical therapy from the Leidse Hogeschool. Since then she has worked in different private clinics and facilities. From 1989-1991, she worked in a Head Injury Facility in Florida (USA). She then returned to Noordwijk where she worked in two private practices. In 1993, she was appointed head of physical therapy for a school system in Florida, where she set up and directed physical therapy services for children with multiple handicaps. She took a sabbatical from PT in 1994 to become coordinator for international education in Amsterdam, facilitating the training of foreign students in physical therapy schools in the Netherlands. Working as a clinician remained attractive for her, so she accepted a position at a private clinic in Bielefeld, Germany. Together with Todd, she returned to the US in 1997, this time to work in a rehabilitation facility based in a community for the elderly, followed by work with a home health care service. From 1999, she has worked in a private practice in Rotterdam, and since 2002, in her own practice in Den Haag.
